Campfire Recipes: Biscuit Sticks
One of the best things about RV camping trips is the ability to cook over a campfire. Iowa RVers love to make the classics: burgers, hot dogs, s'mores, and stew, but every now and then it is nice to shake things up and try something new. If you are looking for a new campfire breakfast recipe you will definitely want to try biscuit sticks. Biscuit sticks are easy to make, have a great taste, and can be made by the whole family.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10-12 minutes
Ingredients:
Sticks (that are 1 or more inches in diameter)
Canned Biscuits (in your grocery's refrigerated section)
Butter, honey, jelly, or any other toppings you would like to us
Instructions:
Start by opening the can of biscuits and unroll to make dough flat. Wrap the rolled out dough around the stick making sure to seal any seams and cover end of stick completely. Toast the dough over your campfire until it becomes a nice golden brown color. The thinner the dough, the quicker it will cook. Be careful not to burn the end. Once cooked your biscuit stick should easily slide off your stick, leaving a hollowed out space to put whatever you want inside. You can throw in butter, jelly, or even chocolate chips to make a dessert out of it.
Campfire biscuits are an easy and delicious morning treat that requires minimal clean up. Try these out on your next Iowa RV trip and let us know what you think!
