RVing with Kids

Planning trips in your Webster City RV is the perfect way to have quality time with your family and friends while making lasting memories at the same time. Before you load up your rig and hit the road, you may want to take some extra time planning a trip that is fun for both the adults and the children.  The following are a few great tips approved by parents and children alike courtesy of USA Today to make for easy and fun RVing with kids.

1. Make sure to plan your meals ahead of time and when and where you will be making food stops. Keep an eye out for rest stops, road service areas and other places with food establishments that accommodate RV parking. As any parent can tell you, when kids get hungry they can get cranky. It’s probably a good idea to pack snacks ahead of time and to keep on hand when you need to tide their hunger for a bit.
2. One of the last things you want to start hearing on repeat is that annoying question, “Are we there yet?" Even on exciting RV adventures, kids can get bored during extended periods of time riding along. Make sure your kids pack some of their favorite games, books, toys, DVDs, etc.
3. When planning your RV trip and choosing a final destination, be sure to research that it is kid friendly and has amenities and things for kids to do. Don't just assume that the simple things that keep us adults entertained will also satisfy the kiddos. While your idea of a good time might be parking your RV in the middle of a wooded forest with nothing but you and nature around, your kids might think otherwise.
4. Play fun road trip games during those long stretches of travel to keep the kids from getting stir crazy. It can even be fun for the adults and help them pass the time if they join in too.
5. If you plan on trekking it on an extended, multiple day RV drive, be sure to plan at least one stop a day at some location that offers kid friendly entertainment. This could be anything from hitting up a local amusement parks or simply having a picnic and throwing around a Frisbee somewhere. Kids need to stretch their legs and change the scenery to keep them satisfied.
