Jobs for the Fulltime RVer
RVing is one of the cheapest vacation options, but it can be hard to pay for a whole year of travel expenses without working a 9-5 job. Luckily, there are a number of options for having an income while you are living the fulltime RVer’s dream.
- Campground Jobs - You can get a job in maintenance, grounds-keeping, sales, office staff, housekeeping or planning social event for the campground you are staying. Many campsites will pay you and give you a percentage off your campsite or even let you stay for free!
- Tourist Attractions – If you are staying near a touristy town get a job at one of the attractions. Work as a museum tour guide, a ride operator at a theme park, or look for a job at a popular restaurant.
- Seasonal Work - There are always jobs available around holidays. Around Halloween/Thanksgiving look for a job at a pumpkin patch, haunted house, or a corn maze. At Christmas/New Years pick up a retail job, a job at a fireworks stand or a job at a tree lot. You can also look for jobs based on the season – work at a ski resort, a farmers market during harvest season, or a florist during the summer, which is wedding season.
- House sitting/Caretaker - Check local listing for anyone who needs someone to house sit, pet sit, or someone who just needs a person to pick up their mail and water their plants while they are away.
- Sales - While you are out in your RV sell something you love – RV related things! Sell products related to RVing to people you meet at campsites, campsites themselves, or travel to trade shows and sell your goods there. You can also look in to selling anything you want at local flea markets or craft shows.
- Blog - Like to write? A lot of companies will hire bloggers to write about their industry, products, or anything else. All you need is a computer, internet access, and the love of writing.
