If you haven’t figured it out yet, decorating your new RV is going to be somewhat different than decorating a house because you’ll be spending a lot of time in motion. Using the standard hammer and nail combo may not suffice when your RV makes sudden stops or takes wide turns. But luckily, there are several options RVers have when it comes to hanging décor on their RV interiors.

Option 1: Screws. This is going to be the best option for your heavier items like mirrors, candleholders or shelves. The downside is you’ll have to use a drill, which is going to leave a fairly large hole in the wall. If you plan on changing things up down the road, you’ll need some Spackle to cover up the holes. It always helps to put a little caulking in the holes to help seal out the elements.

Option 2: Velcro Strips. This option is more suited for lighter items, like picture frames. They come in all different sizes and can be custom-fitted just the way you like it. One of our favorite types is the small squares, because you can put them on the four corners of whatever you’re hanging. The only downside is they can be a little tricky to remove and you’ll have to be sure to measure out both pieces of the Velcro perfectly.

Option 3: 3M Adhesives. This is my favorite method of all. You can use them for hanging practically anything (nothing too heavy like shelving, though). They are specifically designed for easy removal and won’t leave a trace on your walls. 3M also make various sizes of hooks that are great for hanging coats, towels and more. The best part about these strips is that they are inexpensive, simple and quick to use.

Using one of these three options will ensure your decorations stay put when your RV, travel trailer or fifth wheel is in motion.
