Sometimes, weird can be wonderful. If you’re a seasoned Iowa RV traveler, you’ve already discovered that prowling the roadsides can be as much fun as getting to that next destination.
We just stumbled across a website called Weird U.S. that celebrates America’s oddities, including stories, roadside attractions, and museums from practically every state in the union, including Iowa.
The site includes a mention of Britt, Iowa’s Hobo Museum, Hobo Cemetery, and the annual Hobo Convention that occurs during the second week of August each year. Yes, even hobos have a convention where they congregate, share information on rail routes and railyards, and crown a Hobo King and Hobo Queen.
Check out the other Iowa listings, http://www.weirdus.com/states/iowa/ or the random oddities you’ll find in other states, and you can add a little “weird,” (and wonderful!) to your next RV road trip!
What’s the weirdest place you’ve ever visited? Let us know!
