RV MPG

More RV Miles

One of the advantages of taking your Webster City RV out is the advantage of saving money on trips. Flights, hotels, restaurants, and rental car all combine to one RVing experience. This mode of vacationing becomes especially nice when there are more travelers. Even with all of these benefits, it’s still important to get more miles out of your gallon. Here are a few tips to pump up your gas mileage and have more money for gifts!

Preparation
Before departing, it’s wise to get your motorhome inspected, particularly if it has been in storage or sitting a while. Another item to check will be tires. The better shape your tires are in, the less work the vehicle will have to do.

Packing
Packing for trips can be fun, but it can also be a hassle. Don’t get swept up in the need to bring too much. Just because you’re in a motorhome doesn’t mean it’s necessary to bring everything you can. The less storage items, the less weight for the engine to haul. While it’s good to bring everything you need, try to not abuse the privilege and overload.

Driving
Once you’ve hit the road, it might be tempting to hit the gas a little more than normal. Don’t fall into the idea that you will get there much faster. The truth is, not that much time will be shaved off your arrival by going a tad quicker. In actuality, the gas will be the fastest to evacuate. Keeping your RV at a steady pace throughout your driving will enable you to stretch the gallon.
