Where To Stop
If your RV trip
is short, and you’re headed to a specific destination, you’re unlikely to be
too worried about making stops along the way. On the other hand, if your trip
is going to take a while, you will need to stop ever so often to stretch your
legs. So, how do you know where to take that pause? Here are some tips for the
weary traveler.
Shopping
Center
From an RVer
standpoint, it would make good business sense to allow people who will be eager
to supply their trip a spot in your parking lot for the night. Large chains
such as Wal-Mart encourage those with motorhomes to use their extra space for
free. Any place that is willing to help out a traveler is more likely to profit
from that alliance and we hear from customers about how helpful it is all the
time.
RV Park
There are over
13,000 RV parks across the nation with amenities and extra facilities waiting
for you to use them. As a bonus, there are even free sites to save you some
money. We encourage our friends to get acquainted with highway signs coming up
to an exit because often an RV park is listed with lodging. Staying at one of
these locations is also a great way to meet fellow RVers.
Rest Area
This is another
sign to watch out for on the highway because often times rest areas can be
extremely useful. They vary from a wooded area with places to park and
bathrooms to full service restaurants and gas stations. Most rest areas are
open to overnight stints since truckers routinely use them for that. It’s
becoming more common to find ones that also have shower facilities, game rooms,
gift shops, and grocery stores.
